Workshop/APD, a design firm based in New York City seeks a talented interior design intern for work on high-end residential projects. This is a part time position and schedule is to be determined upon availability The position will pay a lunch stipend and metro-card for all office related travel, and school credit can be applied if applicable.
We are looking for a candidate with strong oral and written communication skills, good graphic abilities, and knowledge of modern office procedures and methods. Strong computer skills are also encouraged, including fluency with all MS Office programs, computer drafting software, and 3-D modeling software. Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and accomplish objectives expediently are all strengths we are looking for in a candidate.
Responsibilities of the position will include (but not limited to):
• Maintaining design library
• Sourcing materials
• Vendor correspondence
• Design of custom furniture, millwork, and accessories
• Coordination and tracking of client-related purchases
• Preparation of client presentations
• Shopping for furniture, decorative items, installation materials, etc.
• General support for Interior Design Department.
